Imitation Irish a Cappella & Comedy!

Ireland's shame and a menace to sobriety, The Dregs are a band of Scandinavian-Irish posers who bring their own merry flavor of folk music to the pubs and taverns of Minnesota. (Ok, some of them are a little Irish.) With staggering behavior, these six sorry sots perform intoxicating ballads, lush anthems, and sea shanties that'll have you three sheets to the wind! So pour yourself a cold one, and get ready for a stomping, clapping, spitting, swearing, mug-swinging, good time!

The Dregs in Black

dregs (drëgs) n, plural.
  1. The smallest and least desirable portion of residual liquid at the bottom of a drinking vessel.
  2. Pathetic band of Irish wannabes who sing, jest, and beg for your table scraps. (See photo, right).

Dregs make total strangers fall in love

This weekend at the Renaissance Festival, The Dregs determined that if they perform "Moondance" by Van Morrison, complete strangers will fall in love. In fact, by the end of the song, a proposal is entirely likely.

While our sample size is rather unscientific as it was only one couple and it turns out they actually knew each other, the fact remains that we sang the song and by the end of the song they were engaged!

2009 Minnesota Renaissance Festival Schedule

Our Schedule for the 2009 Minnesota Renaissance Festival is set....

At least it is for the first weekend.

We will be appearing at Mac's pub at 11:00, 2:00, 3:30 and 5:00 daily. 5:00 is, of course, our world famous Dreg along!

We'll also be appearing at the Opening Gate Show every Saturday and are tentatively scheduled to appear at the Feast of Fantasy (only the second and third feasts of the day)!

So yeah, we are going to be busy. Come out and see us. There will be music. There will be beer. What could be better?

Dregs on the radio!

The Dregs are going to be on WCCO radio with Jearlyn Steele at 9:30 P.M. on Sunday, August 15th. We'll be cheerfully encouraging folks to come see us and all our friends at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival and performing a few songs. In all liklihood, we'll be fabulously funny and you will regret having missed us if you do, in fact, miss us.

Remember, radio is still free and that means even in this economy, you have no excuse if you fail to tune in.

Yeah, we know that was a double negative. Just listen to the show and stop critiquing our grammar.

Dregs are currently the most Popular Performers at Harmonic CONvergence

While we admit that this is really an excuse to show people the spiffy schedule they have over at the CONvergence website, we thought we'd point out that of all the performers at Harmonic CONvergence, the Dregs are the most popular.
